PRODUCT-LED CHOICE
Different structures create different opening experiences, production costs and shipping volumes.
COMMERCIAL LOGIC
Two boxes of the same size can have very different production costs.
Printed art paper, specialty paper and uncoated paper have different costs.
Setup and tooling are spread across more units as volume increases.
A lid & base box requires different labor from a multi-panel magnetic box.
Foil, embossing, debossing and spot UV add tooling and process stages.
Larger dimensions use more material and can increase freight volume.
Paperboard, EVA, EPE and fabric-covered inserts vary in cost and labor.
We can tell you where premium details are worth paying for—and where a simpler construction may work just as well.
Typical rigid boxes use approximately 2.0–3.0 mm greyboard, selected according to dimensions, weight and construction.
Options may include:
Printed art paper
Textured specialty paper
Uncoated paper
Kraft paper
Leather-grain or other tactile papers
CMYK printing can work well for detailed graphics.
Pantone-referenced color may be more suitable where brand-color consistency is particularly important.
Matte
Soft-touch
Anti-scratch
Anti-fingerprint
The right option depends on color, handling and expected surface performance.
Finish
A premium box usually works best when finishes support the design—not when every available process is added at once.
Add controlled metallic or pigment highlights to logos and selected details.
Raises artwork above the surface to create physical depth.
Presses selected details into the surface for a more restrained tactile effect.
Creates contrast between matte and gloss areas.
Specialty Paper
Printed art paper, specialty paper and uncoated paper have different costs.
INSERTs
The insert controls product movement, protection, presentation height and opening experience.
Suitable for many cosmetics, accessories and lightweight sets.
Useful where the insert should visually integrate with the rigid box.
Useful where precise retention or additional cushioning is required.
Suitable for jewelry and softer premium presentations.
Paper-based structures can be explored where product protection allows.
REAL PROJECT PROOF
Packaging development is often about making the right decision before mass production begins.
MULTI-SKU PACKAGING
Problem: Too many packaging versions increased inventory complexity. Decision: Use a shared outer structure with SKU-specific inserts or labels. Result: Simpler production planning and repeat ordering.
PREMIUM SURFACE & FOIL
Problem: Fine metallic artwork needed to stay clean and sharp.
Decision: Review paper, surface treatment and foil pressure during sampling.
Result: Cleaner detail and more repeatable production.
Complex Presentation Structure
Problem:
The initial design was visually strong but difficult to assemble consistently.
Decision:
Simplify the internal structure without losing the intended presentation.
Result:
Cleaner assembly and better production consistency.

FACTORY PROOF
A good sample only matters if the same specification can be reproduced across the production run.
Greyboard and wrap materials are prepared to the approved structure and dimensions.
Printing, foil, embossing and surface finishes are checked against approved references.
Alignment, corners and surface appearance controlled.
Wrapping, corner forming, insert fitting and final assembly are controlled during production.
Fit and presentation checked before packing.
Finished boxes are checked for structure, appearance, fit and export packing before shipment.
MULTI-SKU / WHOLESALE
For brands with several products, a different rigid box for every SKU is not always the most efficient approach.
Use common box dimensions where products allow.
Change the internal fit without rebuilding the whole packaging system.
Keep outer packaging consistent while differentiating products.
Reduce unnecessary tooling, line changes and inventory complexity.
